How to judge the flame retardant performance of flame retard

Flame-retardant fabrics are usually self-extinguishing when off fire, difficult to ignite when on fire, no molten drops, the length of charcoal after burning can be controlled within 10cm, soft to the touch, good strength, good abrasion resistance, and good flame-retardant fabrics can be washed more than 100 times.
The following two methods are usually used to evaluate the flame retardant performance of flame retardant fabrics.
First, the burning rate of flame retardant fabrics is judged by.
The flame retardant fabric is contacted with the flame for 12S according to the prescribed method, and then the flame is removed so as to observe the continuous burning and negative burning time of the flame retardant fabric, and the degree to which the fabric is destroyed (i.e. the carbon length). The shorter the renewal and negative burning time of the flame retardant fabric, the lower the degree of destruction of the surface of the fabric, the better the flame retardant performance of the flame retardant fabric; conversely, the worse the flame retardant performance of the flame retardant fabric.  
Second, through the limit oxygen index of flame retardant fabrics to judge.
The ultimate oxygen index is a measure of the flame retardant performance of flame retardant fabrics in terms of the amount of oxygen required for combustion; the higher the oxygen index, the higher the concentration of oxygen required to maintain combustion, which means that it is more difficult to burn. This test refers to the minimum volume percentage of oxygen required to keep a flame retardant fabric burning as a candle when it is placed in a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen. In theory, a flame retardant fabric has a self-extinguishing property in air as long as its oxygen index is greater than 21%. According to the size of the oxygen index of flame retardant fabrics, flame retardant fabrics can usually be divided into four grades: flammable (LOI<20%), combustible (LOI=20%~26%), non-combustible (LOI=26%~34%) and non-combustible (LOI>35%).
